Very sorry to hear of the death of Professor Merton Sandler. Born in 1926, Merton was a renowned psychiatrist and neuropharmacologist who contributed notably to three of our Witness seminars: 'Drugs in Psychiatric Practice', 'Drugs affecting 5HT systems'; and 'Migraine: Diagnosis, Treatment and Understanding c.1960–2010'. His account in ‘Drugs in Psychiatric Practice’ of giving volunteers LSD in the days before ethical approval was routinely required for such work is included in our forthcoming 50th Witness seminar volume, 'Monoclonal Antibodies to Migraine'.
