The book, by Arthur Allen, is subtitled ‘How Two Brave Scientists Battled Typhus and Sabotaged the Nazis’, and is a fascinating account of Polish biologists Rudolf Weigl and Ludwik Fleck, and their work in vaccine research in war-ravaged Europe.
